WAIPA World Investment Conference Buenos Aires 2010
The annual WAIPA World Investment Conference 2010 is being held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from 12 - 14 May 2010. It will bring together an international panel of heads of state, government officials, chief executives from the private sector, representatives from Investment Promotion Agencies (IPA’s), as well as members of the academia and civil society.
The WIC 2010 will focus on the challenges raised by the current economic recovery, particularly the development of investments that can make growth sustainable.
The event will represent a unique opportunity for participants to network with different global investment players at a senior level. Moreover, valuable analysis will be provided by a wide range of prominent speakers, including prestigious academics business leaders, government officials and senior officers from international organisations, among others.
The following program includes plenary sessions that will address challenges such as the pending international financial reform and the financing of investment, the balancing of sustainability and profitability in new business models, and the role of innovation in the quest for sustainable development. In addition, work-sessions designed to respond to the operational needs of IPAs, particularly the use of information intelligence to influence investment decisions, incentives for long-term development, the targeting of investors, and the integration of large global corporations with local stakeholders and communities.
